Questions to answer before investing

  1. Is your goal Arena, defense, Bear Hunt, or open-field combat?
  2. Will the hero lead a march or provide a first-slot joiner skill?
  3. How many general shards remain after your target star level?

Shard commitment

A mythic hero needs 1,065 shards to reach 5 stars after unlock. Most heroes need about 10 additional shards to unlock, which makes the usual locked-to-5-star total 1,075. The 4-to-5-star step costs 600 shards.

Those costs do not prove that one hero is worth the investment. Your result still depends on role, current hero, gear, widget, and the next generation window.
